FARAWAY PLACES
Opening Tuesday 18 October 6-8pm

My practice is concerned with the contemplative aspects of time. Each image is representative of a snippet or moment in time and is part of a broader narrative cycle. What has immediately occurred before the image and what may happen after are all questions to consider when viewing my work.
While I was influenced by recent travel throughout South and Central America, my current work is not a photo journal but rather a focused reflection of my mind set throughout this experience.
Themes of time, movement, change and reflection underlie my work. In ‘The ravages…’ the water washing over the body is symbolic, akin to a cleansing ritual or renewal of being free of the past and being immersed in the present.
