In my work I explore the space of attachments. I primarily use glass because of its chameleon nature and malleability although I will employ other materials if they better express my purpose.
The space I explore exists between objects, to this end there are always multiples. Often my space is defined through repetition and investigates attachments as omissions or variations in similar objects. I see vessels as containers for space, where the skin of the vessel defines the nature of containment. By using multiple vessels I can investigate relationships of containment. In casting glass, I cast the space between objects, the objects themselves being voids in the glass. The finished object explores the space of attachments between voids.
I believe we are social beings and that sociability requires us to judge attachments. I hope my work can engage with that faculty in the people that encounter it.
