The Life Indoors

Through still life painting Scott Owen is using this house-bound pandemic period to linger on those small moments we create in the spaces we inhabit and to celebrate floral life. Plants and flowers are brought into the home and placed with loved belongings to form images and narratives that play with the moving light.
Scott Owen is a Sydney based artist who investigates the bittersweet, joy in melancholy, and earnest reflection through still life and landscape painting. He completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting at the National Art School Sydney in 2015, and was selected as a finalist in the Eutick Memorial Still Life Award in 2019
