My interest is in observing the experience of sculpture primarily through a visceral sensation – one that we feel within our body. I am concerned with how our own personal space is drawn in or repelled by a form’s volume and its implied movement. In particular through the use of curves, arcs and bends. Through these investigations, I hope to find harmony between the sculptures negative and positive space, through which the negative space, becomes one and the same as the positive space. Whether it is through a gentle curve, a darkened void, or lively colour, the space is activated and I believe can lead you on a journey and create a sense of mystery.
