Laura Sutton
Laura Sutton is an artist based in Sydney, known for her sculptural work primarily using wood and Perspex to create linear abstract forms. This blend of materials and geometric abstraction underscores Sutton’s exploration of spatial relationships and visual dynamics within her sculptural practice. She earned her Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the National Art School in Sydney in 2016 and has since been refining her visual vocabulary.
Her artworks often feature geometric intersecting planes and linear edges, which are designed to interact dynamically with the surrounding space, both occupying and activating it. Sutton has participated in various group exhibitions including The Paddock III at Aloft in Harlem, New York, Tetrad at Crawford Gallery, and the National Art School Post Graduate Exhibition. Additionally, her works can be found in several private collections through acquisitions and commissions.
